SHIPMENTS DELIVERED SINCE JANUARY 2009

  • $5 million of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies were distributed to hospitals and clinics.

  • $1.46 million of food packets were delivered to Gaza families.

  • Shipments of fortified milk and high-energy biscuits purchased in the West Bank are distributed to preschools in Gaza.

Shipments en route to Gaza

  • Six shipments of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies valued at $2.7 million.

 

CURRENT PROJECTS

  • Milk for Preschoolers program providing fortified milk and high-energy biscuits to 25,200 children in 186 preschools ($1.3 million annually).

  • Water projects bringing water networks and house connections to families in need and pumping systems to keep raw sewage off the streets ($80,000).

  • Psychosocial program aimed at reducing the effects of war on 6,500 traumatized children, ages 8-14, and their parents, carried out with the Community Training and Crisis Management Center in Northern Gaza ($300,000).

  • Poultry program giving 50 families each a cage, 10 hens and a rooster, and 50kg of feed. ANERA has expanded to include 200 more families in the next stage ($50,000).

  • Cash for Work program involving the collection of plastic waste from damaged greenhouses and farms for recycling. This environmental effort prepares farmland for crop planting and employs workers immediately ($100,000).

  • Shoe and Backpack purchase has been allocated for preschoolers ($10,000).

  • Preschool rehabilitation of centers associated with ANERA’s Milk for Preschoolers programs which were damaged in the recent war.


PLANNED PROJECTS

  • Rehabilitation of small medical centers, all partners in ANERA’s in-kind program, damaged during the war.

  • Psychosocial program aimed at training preschool teachers to identify and address needs of traumatized children, ages 3-5.
