Our Aid Work in Lebanon

ANERA has been supporting local non-governmental organizations in Lebanon and providing relief aid to Lebanon refugees since the 1980s. In January 2006 we opened a representative office in Beirut. ANERA works to assist Lebanese and Palestinian communities to address urgent relief aid needs for Lebanon refugees and achieve longer-term health, medical relief aid, education and economic development priorities.

ANERA Lebanon also provides technical assistance to local organizations in order to improve their ability to better address important issues like gender equity, the needs of refugee children, and community participation in the planning process. ANERA supports training in information technology, business development services, and vocational training in various fields.

With our local Lebanese and Palestinian relief partners, ANERA is active in Lebanon from providing humanitarian relief for Lebanon refugees to working for sustainable solutions in our three sectors of health, education, and economic development.

ANERA has supported local relief aid organizations in Lebanon for more than twenty years, but only opened an office in the country in January 2006. With a core team of five full-time staff and a cadre of consultants, ANERA Lebanon maintains a highly cost effective structure, maximizing the humanitarian relief assistance we provide our partners and the inhabitants of refugee camps while minimizing our own administrative expenses.
