March 18 | “Three shipments of medication made it safely to Gaza, despite the state of uncertainty,” Mostafa, manager of the ANERA warehouse, told me. “All of a sudden, the crossings could be closed off, but luckily that doesn't always mean that our shipments are stuck on the other side.”

Mostafa keeps his mobile phone at his side all day, so that he can be instantly informed about a shipment coming into Gaza. He usually receives shipments during nights after long delays due to security checks.

"It is a tough trip to and from the crossing," he says. It is also very dangerous, especially driving in the dark night with constant worries of dwindling fuel. To save gas, Mostafa often lightens the heavy truck by delivering supplies to some clinics on the way back to Gaza City.

Right now Mostafa has enough supplies to keep him busy distributing them for the next two weeks. And there is more coming. After all, ANERA has its reputation to uphold. We are known for getting these vital supplies into Gaza, no matter what may be going on.
