Director of Online Giving and Direct Mail

POSITION SUMMARY
Manage and develop online, monthly giving, and direct mail programs. This position works closely with other members of the fundraising and communications team.
DUTIES
Work with fundraising and communication team to develop and implement fundraising and communications strategies to meet annual fundraising goals from individual donors.
Manage all aspects of the direct mail program including writing and designing mailings for annual and lapsed donors and online/offline prospects from a base of more than 38,000.
Manage and expand all online donation programs including website donation pages.
Interface with and maximize deliverables of service providers.
Manage monthly giving program.
Track and evaluate effectiveness of mailings and appeals, informing management of results and trends.
Manage Convio donor databases in close coordination with fundraising team and other stakeholders.
Manage ANERA’s mailing list and act as point of contact for list share requests from broker.
Contribute to ANERA publications and presentations as requested.
Carry out special projects and other assignments, as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Bachelor’s degree in communication, graphic design or related field.
Minimum five years related work experience.
Knowledge of non-profit fundraising.
Knowledge of budgeting process.
Excellent writing skills.
Knowledge of Middle East issues.
Experience with web and print production.
Must be self-initiating but also collaborate well with a team
Knowledge of Convio or another email management system
Desired
Experience with desktop publishing software.
Experience with social media.
Knowledge of Arabic helpful.

POSITION SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the chief financial officer, directs the accounting functions of the organization. Gathers, prepares and analyzes financial data and statements and supporting documentation. Responsible for the organization's accounting procedures and related internal controls, the maintenance of fiscal records, and the preparation of financial reports. Directly responsible for all grant accounting and related billing processes. Supervises payables/receivable functions. The position involves coordination of accounting functions in the field offices and supervision of the headquarters staff accountant.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Directs daily accounting functions and ensures the accuracy of the accounting records through the appropriate application of accounting standards and internal controls.
Ensures the timely close of the accounting system to include the headquarters records and the organizational consolidated records and the production of appropriate and accurate financial reports for management and other stakeholders.
Organizes and works closely with the CFO to direct the annual budgeting process.
Maintains and recommends changes to the organization’s accounting manual.
Coordinates the annual financial audit, A-133 compliance audit and any other review/audit processes that are required.
Performs all grant accounting functions and maintains appropriate records. Ensures timely billing and receipt according to grant agreements and appropriate financial reporting as required by donors.
Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements. Ensures timely filing of all required financial reporting.
Administers the automated accounting system. Maintains the organizational chart of accounts and controls any revisions to the chart of accounts and/or other coding used in the system. Provides support and instruction to all offices. Ensures consistency in accounts and reporting. Maintains system security to ensure proper access for all users.
In collaboration with the CFO, provides accounting assistance and information to others in the organization. Maintains current knowledge in accounting requirements and practices.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Attention to detail and accuracy; current knowledge of accounting principles and practices particularly for INGOs; demonstrated competency with GAAP, IAS and USAID requirements; knowledge and experience with computerized financial reporting and management information systems; ability to identify and resolve complex problems; ability to handle multiple priorities within deadlines; demonstrated ability to train and supervisor subordinates; strong verbal and written communication skills.
MINIMUM DESIRABLE TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. CPA or CMA designation preferred. Minimum of 5 years accounting experience preferably at an INGO with multiple funding sources that included USAID grants. Demonstrated experience in budgeting and financial management. Experience with requirements of OMB A-133 and OMB A-122 required. Experience with automated accounting systems, Sage MIP preferred. Knowledge of Arabic and the Middle East would be helpful.
