In-Kind Medical and Relief
ANERA’s in-kind medical program started in 1970, when we merged with American Middle East Rehabilitation (AMER), an organization that was founded to send in-kind donations to the region. In the early years, we delivered one or two shipments annually, valued in the tens of thousands of dollars.
Today, ANERA distributes many millions of dollars worth of medicines for chronic conditions, hospital equipment, wheelchairs, over-the-counter drugs, and health care supplies that would not otherwise be available in the communities where they are needed the most. We also deliver non-medical items like school supplies and new shoes.
