ANERA provides a variety of support for educational institutions, from preschool to secondary school, to improve and enhance student learning.
In the West Bank, ANERA launched an Early Childhood Development Initiative that promotes child-centered pedagogy; improves preschool teachers’ qualifications through intensive training and mentoring; rehabilitates preschools to create child-friendly and child-safe learning environments; encourages community and parental involvement in early childhood education; and, builds capacity for local Palestinian partners to sustain the project in the future.
In Jordan, ANERA provides after-school assistance and English, Arabic and math tutoring to 1,200 displaced Iraqi and underprivileged Jordanian students, ages 6 through 18.
ANERA funding also creates and expands new classrooms, libraries, computer labs, sports facilities, vocational training centers and arts programs in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon and Jordan.
