Consulting with our partners and exchanging ideas is one way ANERA’s Creative Health Campaign (CHC) stays relevant and effective.

That is why 25 health care workers met at Le Crillon Hotel in Broumana, Lebanon on April 29 for a two-day workshop. The participants represented 11 NGOs that work with Palestinian and Lebanese communities.

Workers learned from each other and defined the CHC’s future. Forty topics were covered, including future expectations, facilitating women support groups, and using games developed by ANERA to educate the public.

The group agreed to continue our main programs that encourage breastfeeding, making baby foods, eating right, exercising and using oral rehydration solutions.

Participants from the Nahr Bared and Baddawi refugee camps began planning a health event further north. Lesson plans were made for community workers on how to utilize the materials produced by CHC.

The time together strengthened solidarity towards better health and our plans for the future. The event was motivated by ANERA’s commitment to –

  • building long-term relationships, especially with Palestinian communities and grassroots organizations, and

  • delivering and implementing projects in partnership with local organizations whenever possible.
