Anera’s Gaza Health Clinics

Medical clinics provide much needed aid to a vulnerable region.
Support from Americares has made the establishment and maintenance of health clinics in Gaza possible. These clinics provide medical, maternal, and psychiatric care, aiming to address the holistic needs of the community.
In Gaza, where medical infrastructure is heavily damaged and access to essential services is limited, Anera’s health clinics serve as necessary lifelines for hundreds of Palestinians every day. These clinics provide both general and specialized care, like maternal health, psychiatric health, and chronic disease management to communities that otherwise have very little access to healthcare.

In 2024, Anera launched non-communicable diseases clinics, offering treatments, such as screenings, counseling services, and chronic medications to displaced Palestinians with chronic diseases. These clinics are co-located at Anera’s wound management clinics, which address the pressing need of conflict-related injuries. With clinics in both Rafah and Khan Younis, medical practitioners dress wounds, visit homes, and perform follow-up visits.
Our newest primary healthcare center in Gaza City treats hundreds of people a day through specialized care. This clinic operates under harsh conditions, using recycled materials to create makeshift furniture, and being as economical as possible in its design.
Our Women’s Health Clinics and Mother and Child Health Clinics in Al Buriejj and Gaza provide specialized care to some of the most vulnerable Palestinian populations. Pregnant women, who are often experiencing severe malnourishment, can receive check-ups and multivitamins to ensure their health. These clinics also provide psychiatric support for women who have experienced violence as well as health education to ensure the long-term effectiveness of their treatments.
Anera’s on-the-ground team, with help from local and international donors, ensure that the clinics are well-equipped and staffed. They focus on sustainable support, offering not only immediate medical assistance but also long-term aid. This includes community health education, which helps improve public health outcomes beyond the clinic walls.
The need for these health services has only intensified due to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. As hospitals are overwhelmed and medical supplies are in short supply, Anera’s clinics often serve as the primary place of care for many Palestinians. Through these clinics, Anera contributes significantly to public health resilience in one of the most challenging environments in the world.
