Anera and the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund, in partnership with the VTC and I Learn, celebrate the graduation of 125 young men and women in Jordan
AMMAN, Jordan (Nov. 10, 2025) – Reflecting a renewed commitment to empowering refugee and host communities youths in Jordan and enhancing employment opportunities, Anera, in partnership with the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund, the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC), and I-Learn, celebrated the graduation of 125 young women and men who completed their participation in the Youth Entrepreneurial Pathways for Resilience project.
The year-and-a-half-long project aimed to empower youth through accredited vocational training, hands-on apprenticeship opportunities, and life skills development; all designed to strengthen their readiness for the job market and support them in building a more stable and independent future. By combining practical education with personal capacity building, the program fostered self-confidence among youth and opened new doors to sustainable and dignified employment opportunities.
Norhan Shaqman, Deputy Country Programs Director at Anera Jordan, said:
“Our partnership with the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund has been a rich and inspiring experience, embodying our shared vision of empowering refugee youth and building more sustainable livelihoods. Through our fruitful collaboration with the Vocational Training Corporation and I Learn, we implemented the Youth Entrepreneurial Pathways for Resilience project, which enabled young people to gain vocational and life skills that strengthened their ability to turn challenges into opportunities, regain confidence, and move toward a promising professional future. This achievement stands as proof that investing in youth is investing in the future of our communities.”
Dana Balqer, Head of Regional Programs at the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund, added:
“The Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund is proud of its partnership with Anera, the Vocational Training Corporation, and I Learn, which aims to empower young people in Jordan through access to quality education and specialized practical training that enhances their skills and enables them to improve their livelihoods.”
She noted that since 2018, His Excellency Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair, founder of the fund, has provided continuous support for the education of Jordanian and refugee youth in Jordan, reaching more than 54,000 beneficiaries through various educational initiatives.
Balqer reaffirmed the fund’s commitment to continue supporting Jordanian youth through effective strategic partnerships, helping them achieve their ambitions and emphasizing that education remains the pathway to a better and more empowered future for all.
Dr. Ahmad Al-Gharaibeh, General Director of the Vocational Training Corporation, also highlighted that, in addition to the educational component,
“The project included improvements to water infrastructure within refugee communities, positively impacting more than 400 families — a step that reflects Anera and its partners’ holistic approach to strengthening community resilience and improving quality of life.”
The graduation ceremony took place at the Greater Jerash Municipality Center, attended by project partners, trainers, members of the media and local community, and families of the graduates who proudly celebrated their children’s achievements and the start of a new chapter in their professional lives.
Through its strategic partnership with the Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair Refugee Education Fund and local partners, Anera continues to expand education and vocational training programs in Jordan and across the region — advancing a shared vision of creating real opportunities that transform young people’s potential into tangible achievements, contributing to stronger and more resilient communities.
