Food and Crafts Courses Open Financial Opportunities in Lebanon

With the support of UNICEF, students of two different courses – the baharat (spice blend) cooking course and decoration materials course – celebrate their graduation and readiness for the job market.
In the baharat and decoration courses at the Culture and Sciences Institution, 40 young people learned life skills, vocational skills, financial skills, agro-food production, and spice production, in addition to décor and resin work.
After the course, most graduates found job opportunities in Saida, and those who didn’t find a job opened their own online shops.
Many students showed me how they’re now selling their products online, using what they learned in the course to benefit both themselves and their community.
Today, we’re not standing at the end of a road but at a beginning, full of joy and hope.
