Macklemore Fans, Your Support Is Making a Difference in Gaza

Whether you’ve been an Anera supporter for decades or recently joined our community after learning about our work through Macklemore’s support, we are grateful to have you with us. We could not do this work without you.

Here are just some of the things we’ve been able to accomplish in Gaza recently that your support has made possible:

1. Two reverse osmosis units were installed in Gaza and Khan Younis that will deliver safe drinking water to thousands of people.
2. We’ll be renovating two kindergartens in addition to continuing our work in temporary learning centers.
3. We’re able to support 57 micro-businesses in Gaza through our WeCan project to help families generate income.
4. We continue to distribute thousands of food parcels and fresh vegetables, including more than 8,000 food parcels distributed from August 19 to September 10.
5. Within that same timeframe, our healthcare team provided 5,298 consultations, including primary healthcare, maternal and child health, nutrition, psychosocial support, reproductive health and chronic disease management.

These are just some of the accomplishments made possible with your support.

We hope for a day when such work is not necessary and Palestinians can live a life with dignity and prosperity. Until then, we will continue to do what we know how to do best: serving those in need. The past three years have been challenging, to say the least, but hope is what gets us through. A quote from one of our dear team members in Gaza, Suad, reminds us of our guiding principles:

“Only here in Gaza: in the midst of death, we live. When our eyes are full of tears, we smile. To the sounds of bombing, we sing. In our grief, we recall memories that lift us up. We know that to truly live, we need brave hearts, clear minds, and beautiful, kind souls.”
