September 18, 2024 | Amman, Jordan – Anera and I-Learn have announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Crown Prince Foundation (CPF) to launch the transformative “Youth for Sustainable Environment” project. The MoU was signed by Samar El Yassir, Country Director Jordan and Lebanon at Anera, Dr. Tamam Mango, CEO of the Crown Prince Foundation, and Omar Manasrah, Executive Director of I-Learn. This marked the beginning of a significant partnership that aligns both organizations’ missions to foster sustainable development and youth empowerment in Jordan.

The partnership between Anera and I-Learn as implementing partners, and CPF as a youth outreach support partner, seeks to empower Jordanian youth to take the lead in environmental initiatives that align with Jordan’s Economic Modernization Vision for Sustainable Green Growth. By joining forces, the organizations will leverage their resources, expertise, and shared values to support a green, sustainable future for the country, focusing particularly on the governorate of Zarqa’. This governorate, which has experienced considerable industrial growth, faces increasing pressure on its natural resources, making the need for environmental interventions critical.

Samar El Yassir, Anera’s Country Director for Jordan and Lebanon, emphasized the importance of the partnership: “Anera is excited to partner with the Crown Prince Foundation and I-Learn as we share a mutual commitment to investing in the future of Jordan’s youth and the green development of the country. Together, we are fostering a generation that not only understands the importance of sustainability but is also equipped to lead the way.”

The Youth for Sustainable Environment’ Project will focus on empowering youth by offering skills development in green entrepreneurship, water conservation, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices, and other sustainability initiatives. Through this initiative, the youth will be trained in developing their own green projects, with support in ideation, funding, and implementation.

The anticipated impact of the project includes the development of green-skilled youth, the creation of successful green entrepreneurship ventures, and an increase in environmental advocacy and awareness among participants. By empowering youth to lead these initiatives, the project aims to foster long-term, sustainable green growth in the region.

This partnership marks the beginning of a promising journey for all partners and stakeholders, especially the youth to pave the way towards a more sustainable and resilient future, with young people at the forefront of Jordan’s green transformation.
