Anera Launches Critical Medical Support Program for Gaza Evacuees
AMMAN, Jordan (Feb. 12, 2026) — As Gaza’s healthcare system struggles to accommodate increasing medical needs, Gazans with life-threatening conditions face a lack of access to essential care. As a result, Jordan has become a vital humanitarian corridor for evacuees in urgent need of medical attention.
In response, Anera, in collaboration with multiple partners, has launched a medical and humanitarian support program. The program aims to provide targeted food assistance, winterization support, and integrated health, psychosocial, and education continuity activities.
“Behind every evacuation case is a child, a mother, or a father whose treatment was abruptly disrupted by conflict. When they arrive in Jordan, they deserve more than medical care; they deserve compassion, dignity, and continuity of care. This program is about safeguarding lives and standing beside families at one of the most vulnerable moments of their journey,” said Anera’s deputy country director for programs, Nourhan Shuqman.

About Anera
Since 1968, Anera has helped refugees and others hurt by conflicts in the Middle East live with dignity and purpose. Anera, which has no political or religious affiliation, works on the ground with partners in the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem, Lebanon, and Jordan. We mobilize resources for immediate humanitarian relief and for sustainable health, education, and economic development efforts. Our staff are from the communities they serve, navigating the politics that constrict progress to get help where it’s needed most. We will keep building better lives until hope finds its way in the Middle East.
