Anera Surpasses Four Million Gallons of Water and Two Million Meals Delivered in Gaza Since Ceasefire Agreement
WASHINGTON (Dec. 12, 2025 – In the two months since the ceasefire began on October 10, as part of a path to peace agreement forged by President Trump, Anera has provided direct humanitarian support to hundreds of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza. Significant shortages of tents, medicine, and other supplies essential to life remain. Anera continues to wait for approval to bring additional aid into Gaza, with 43 truckloads of aid already in the region and ready to move, but operations have continued with aid reaching those who need it most.
In the 60-day period from October 10 through December 8, Anera has distributed aid across key population centers, including Gaza City, Khan Younis and central area towns and displacement camps:
- 4,015,484 gallons of potable water, reaching hundreds of thousands of displaced people
- 9,266 large parcels of fruits and vegetables, providing rare fresh produce to households
- 598,025 hot meals, with ingredients like rice, pasta, lentils, bulgur and canned meat
- 44,053 food parcels and 17,968 bags of flour, covering 23,179 households
“While the ceasefire, release of hostages and detainees, and possible path toward lasting peace have all been welcomed joyfully, the suffering has not come to an end for those living in Gaza,” said Anera President and CEO Sean Carroll. “We continue to wait for full access approval to bring aid, much of which has been stuck at the border since March, to the people who so desperately need it. Thanks to our partners, Anera has continued to distribute much-needed food, water and medical services to displaced and other affected Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. We will continue to urge world leaders to take necessary action to ensure Palestinians have access to basic necessities like hot food, water, healthcare and shelter.”
Anera continues to provide medical treatment at its three field primary healthcare centers in Khan Younis and the central area, despite ongoing challenges. Anera receives hundreds of patients at each of these clinics per day. Since the ceasefire, this support includes:
- Providing essential medical services to 27,192 patients at our healthcare centers
- Offering a diverse range of services, including internal medicine, general surgery, emergency care, wound management, dermatology, gynecology and pediatrics care, infant and young child feeding, screenings for pregnant and lactating women, identifying cases of malnutrition, distributing nutritional supplements and providing breastfeeding counseling and psychological support sessions
In coordination with partners, Anera has also just delivered tents to families during the winter rains, part of an initiative to deliver thousands of shelters.
In the two months since the ceasefire began, Gazans have faced heavy storms and flooding, making conditions more and more challenging for families in tents. The war may have ended on paper, but suffering returns with every cloud. Despite these conditions, Anera teams continue their life-saving efforts across Gaza.
