Breaking Fast with Dignity: Supporting Families Across Jordan During Ramadan

Posted in:

During Ramadan, the responsibility of feeding a family can become especially overwhelming for those facing food insecurity. To already vulnerable families facing rising living costs in Jordan, help with food can mean much more than nutrition.

Anera delivered 2,105 food parcels to vulnerable households across Jordan, supporting families as they meet their basic needs and ensuring they can break their fast with dignity and stability.

Through Anera’s partnership with Tkiyet Um Ali, these food parcels are reaching those who need them most. Each carefully assembled package provides not only nourishment, but also a sense of relief and reassurance during a financially stressful time of year.

For many recipients, this support goes far beyond food.

In Al Baqa’a, where distributions took place on February 25, 2026, families shared how these parcels are making a difference in their lives.

Hayat, a widow raising four daughters, has relied on Tkiyet Um Ali’s support for over a decade.

“The distribution process was very easy and well-organized,” she said. “Every item in the food parcel supports us in one way or another. These kinds of initiatives are vital for families like mine, especially during the most financially challenging times.”

Aziza, a mother of nine, echoed this sentiment. With an ill husband and limited income, her household faces constant financial strain.

“The food parcel included everything I needed,” Aziza shared. “The staff were very respectful and supportive. Their kindness meant a lot to me, especially when they helped carry the heavy parcel to the car.”

For Sabreen, a divorced mother of three, the assistance provides both practical and emotional relief.

“My salary is very low and barely covers our needs,” she said. “Receiving the food parcel helped us in every way. The distribution process was easy and fast, which made the experience even more reassuring.”

Many families across Jordan feel the same financial insecurity. Consistent access to nutritious food is not guaranteed, and support systems are essential.

You can help ensure families across Jordan, Palestine, and Lebanon can break their fast with dignity and nutritious meals.
