Every small farmer got hit hard.
But larger merchants and traders who are owed money in the market, or have large credits, were able to maneuver and maintain themselves and their livelihoods.
And now, the crisis repeated itself. The small farmers are always the most damaged.
The support we received from Anera helped us a lot.
Where we used to spend $250 on feed, we were able to use that money for something else at home.
This is hay. We get is green, then dry it. We feed it to them dry. It is considered a nutritious supplement for them. It relieves their digestion.
Scoot over, you.
A little goes a long way. It means that today, farmers just need a push forward.
Lebanon’s farmers are among the nation’s most vulnerable. Both the ongoing economic crisis and bombardments have devastated the agriculture industry, leaving farming families to scramble for solutions. Anera is working with farmers in Lebanon like Najib to assist in financial management, business planning, and equipment support.
