At Anera, our mission to deliver humanitarian assistance and sustainable development to vulnerable communities across Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon, and Jordan is made possible through the generosity, trust, and support of a diverse range of donors and partners. Our funding sources are transparent and essential to maintaining our impact as a charitable organization.
Anera screens all funders, staff and partners using anti-terrorism vetting software purchased from the U.S. Office of Foreign Asset Controls. Anera is also a signatory to U.S. anti-terrorism certification procedures.
Institutional Donors and Government Grants
A significant portion of Anera’s funding comes from grants awarded by governments, international institutions, and multilateral organizations. These grants are often tied to specific projects, such as healthcare delivery, education, infrastructure and emergency response. Funds from these sources are critical to scaling our impact and ensuring that larger development projects are properly resourced and sustained.
Key governmental partners include several United Nations agencies (UNICEF, OCHA, WHO); the US Agency for International Development; the US Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration; the United Arab Emirates and Qatar. Institutional partners include Islamic Relief, Muslim Aid USA, Americares, Direct Relief, Humanity First, and dozens of similar organizations.
Foundations and Philanthropic Organizations
Foundations and philanthropic organizations play an essential role in supporting Anera’s work. Private foundations, family trusts, and charitable endowments provide grants to support specific initiatives or respond to urgent humanitarian needs. This flexible support allows us to innovate, pilot new projects, and address emerging crises in real time.
Prominent organizations supporting Anera’s work include the Al Ghurair Foundation, Ajram Family Foundation, Arab Fund for Social and Economic Development, Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, Alumbra Innovations Foundation, Choose Love, Foundation For Middle East Peace, Zakat Foundation of America, and National Arab American Medical Association Foundation.
Individual Donors
The compassion and commitment of individual donors are at the heart of Anera’s mission. Tens of thousands of people from around the world contribute through one-time donations, monthly giving programs, events and emergency appeals. Individual donors provide crucial unrestricted funding, allowing Anera to remain agile and responsive to evolving needs. Whether $25 or $2 million, all gifts support our ability to respond to humanitarian emergencies and invest in long-term development that creates resilience in communities. By trusting Anera to leverage their gifts for the greatest impact, individual donors equip us to respond to the greatest needs and to continuously explore new approaches.
Anera's individual donors come from all 50 US states and 141 countries.
Corporate Partners and Sponsorships
Corporate social responsibility partnerships provide both financial and in-kind support. Organizations that share Anera’s commitment to social impact contribute through grants, donations of medical supplies, and sponsorships of programs and events such as our annual gala.. These partnerships enable us to leverage the private sector’s resources, expertise, and networks to maximize our impact. Notably, corporations in the pharmaceutical, medical supply, and logistics sectors play a pivotal role in supporting Anera’s health and emergency response work.
Anera has received corporate grants from the likes of AstraZeneca, the Citi Foundation, Exxon Mobil Corporation, Pfizer and Sanofi. Other sponsors include the US Embassies of Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, and Kuwait, as well as Arizona State University, Middle East Children’s Initiative, Macquarie and Skadden.
Anera also receives donations from more than 60 corporations and other employers through our workplace giving program. Some notable donors include Google, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, AbbVie and Netflix.
Product Donations
Anera’s ability to deliver essential aid to communities in crisis is strengthened by product donations, particularly medical supplies, equipment, and educational materials. These non-cash contributions often come from non-profit organizations that coordinate donations from pharmaceutical companies. In-kind donations make up a substantial portion of the aid delivered on the ground and reduce operational costs, enabling Anera to reach more people with life-saving support. Examples include essential foods, shelter supplies, medicines, hygiene kits, and much more.
Prominent donors include Americares, Direct Relief, International Health Partners of UK, Health Partners International of Canada, Ministry of Foreign Affairs - UAE, Humanity First, World Emergency Relief and Sanofi.
