Fun washing hands in Gaza? Who knew?

In Gaza, public health is deteriorating due to dire environmental conditions. Educational workshops help address threats to well-being by teaching people how to take care of their health and avoid waterborne diseases.

Our Global Handwashing Day event was one in a series of workshops in Jabalia that Anera, with funding from Islamic Relief USA, designed to engage mothers in particular in promoting behaviors that prevent disease.

Anera is also widely distributing literature about health issues to mothers in Jabalia to spread awareness about preventative measures related to parasites, hygiene and water purity.
