Rebuilding Amjad Preschool in Beit Hanoun, Gaza

Posted in: ,

“Rubble was everywhere and nobody could believe that the pile of wreckage that was the preschool could come alive again,” said Boshra Hamad, head teacher at Al Amjad Preschool in Beit Hanoun, Gaza.

In the summer of 2014, Al Amjad preschool was destroyed by bombs, leaving some 150 children without a safe place to learn and play.

This summer, Anera completely rebuilt the preschool. The new facility meets all of Anera’s early childhood development standards, and includes  five classrooms, an administration room, sanitation facilities, and a large playground in a shaded area outdoors. As the school year kicks off, the teachers and students are amazed and delighted by the transformation. See for yourself!
