Anera Venture’s loan will allow Rani to rebuild his business in West Bank

An experienced butcher from the Tulkarem Refugee Camp, West Bank, Rani Mohammad Awwad Balawneh has a long history in meat retail and food preparation. Before the Gaza war, he ran a reputable butcher shop within the camp, known for its high-quality products and loyal clientele.

The destruction of the camp and the forced displacement of its inhabitants resulted in the loss of both Rani’s residence and his place of business. Showing great resilience, he secured a small storefront just outside the camp boundaries to restart his operations. To diversify his income, he added a grilled meat kiosk at the shop’s entrance, selling prepared meals alongside fresh cuts.

However, recent military activity involving the dredging of the main road led to the destruction of his kiosk. This loss of a vital revenue stream has significantly impacted his earnings, and while the butcher shop continues to function, it is not reaching its full financial potential.

Anera Venture’s loan will allow Rani to rebuild the kiosk and acquire necessary equipment. This investment will restore his dual-income business model and improve the financial stability of his seven-member household.
