Educating for the Future at COP28

Anera is in Dubai this week to participate in COP28. The 28th United Nations Climate Change conference — known as the 2023 Conference of the Parties, or COP28 — has convened in Dubai from November 30 until December 12. Anera is joining the ReWired Summit, organized by Dubai Cares, to be held on December 8 at COP28.

In conjunction with COP28, Anera has published a new on-the-ground report. This report, Educating for the Future: Educational Programs Can Stimulate Positive Action on Climate Change in Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan, focuses on climate-change education and youth activism, which have been proven to positively impact communities by improving knowledge and promoting pro-environmental behaviors.

The RewirEd Summit at COP28 will “place education at the forefront of the climate agenda by convening climate and education actors united in their commitment towards global education transformation as a powerful solution to achieve climate ambitions and education goals.”

Anera’s panel at the summit addresses “Innovative Education Models for Green Skilling in Emergency Context.” For those at COP28, the 12pm (local time) panel will be hosted in the Connect Conference Center, Green Zone, Hall 3.
