Expanding Access to Angioedema Treatment in Jordan

Posted in:

Anera partners with other international organizations through our product donations program, supporting our efforts to bring life saving medical supplies and other resources to medical centers serving refugees across Palestine, Lebanon, and Jordan. Amal’s angioedema treatment was made possible through these product donations, hear her story below:

When the airway swells, breathing becomes difficult, symptoms suddenly appear. This morphs ordinary moments into emergencies. That’s why prevention is key. Once the causes and risk factors are identified along with access to preventative care, lives can be saved.

“I am Mansour Moussa Mustafa Maqableh. My wife, Amal Sultan Hulu Hijazi. The name of this condition is angioedema. My 18-year-old son passed away because of this condition, during his tawjihi exams.”

“I am very happy with the treatment,” Amal says. “My life is finally normal after a lifetime of suffering.”
