Anera and NAOS Middle East Partner to Promote Safe and Inclusive Education for Vulnerable Girls in North Lebanon
BEIRUT, Lebanon (June 30, 2025) — Anera is proud to announce a new partnership with NAOS Middle East, the founder company of Bioderma, Institut Esthederm, and Etat Pur, to launch the NAOS HOPE Project: “Empowering Futures: School Sponsorship Program for Vulnerable Girls in North Lebanon.” This one-year initiative is set to run in Naher El Bared, Akkar – one of the most vulnerable areas in Lebanon.
This project aims to improve educational retention and protection for 35 at-risk children, aged 10 to 14, by addressing the economic, social, and cultural challenges that hinder their ability to stay in school.
“In areas like Akkar, where poverty and displacement create enormous barriers for young children, education becomes both a lifeline and a tool for protection,” said Samar El Yassir, Anera’s Country Director in Lebanon. “Through our partnership with NAOS Middle East, the NAOS HOPE Project will create a safe and inclusive environment where children are not only able to learn but are empowered to thrive and shape their futures.”
In particular, the NAOS HOPE project adopts a holistic classroom approach designed to create an engaging, inclusive, and protective space tailored to the unique needs of adolescent girls. Key interventions include:
● Support to reduce financial burdens and enable school attendance
● Parental and caregiver engagement to reinforce support for girls’ education preventing underage marriage and school dropout
● Behavior changes and awareness activities to promote positive social norms
● Empowerment sessions to build girls’ confidence and awareness of their rights
● Community-based protection mechanisms to ensure a safe learning environment
At NAOS, we uphold the belief that “skincare is human care.” Through the NAOS HOPE Project, we are extending this belief beyond skin to encompass hearts, futures, and the young lives affected by war. In collaboration with Anera, this initiative aims to empower children through education, emotional support, and sustainable practices. We are confident that together, we will foster a profound and enduring impact, said Abir Saneh, People & Culture Director at NAOS Middle East. “The intelligence of the heart is the foundation of a brighter future”, she concludes.
By the end of the project, it will have supported girls and boys academically, worked to shift community attitudes, and built sustainable support systems that prioritize their safety, wellbeing, and development in North Lebanon.
Anera extends its thanks to NAOS Middle East for their generous partnership and shared commitment to children’s education and protection and looks forward to expanding our collaboration in the future and increasing our impact together on the ground.
