Anera’s Karim El Ferkh Elected to Lead Health Coordination in Beirut and Mount Lebanon

BEIRUT, Lebanon | June 17, 2025 — Anera is pleased to announce that Karim El Ferkh, Anera’s health program manager in Lebanon, has just won an election as the sub-national health sector working group coordinator in the Beirut and Mount Lebanon area supporting the Ministry of Public Health, with his new role beginning on July 1, 2025. The working group is a collaborative body that brings together the ministry, World Health Organization, United Nations agencies, as well as national and international non-governmental organizations.

“Being entrusted with this coordination role is both an honor and a responsibility,” says El Ferkh. “I look forward to working alongside our partners to ensure that our collective efforts are impactful, efficient and responsive to the health needs on the ground.”

El Ferkh describes the appointment as a major milestone in his health journey in Lebanon. Years of collaboration with the ministry and health partners across the country helped pave the way for this new responsibility. El Ferkh plans to build on those relationships to expand collective reach, sustain momentum and strengthen the spirit of collaboration on the ground.
