PCRF joins Anera and WCK to Partner on Gaza Crisis Response

November 16, 2023 | Washington, DC – Anera is pleased to announce that the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) is joining forces with Anera and World Central Kitchen to deliver humanitarian relief in the form of food assistance within Gaza in response to the current humanitarian crisis.

PCRF is awarding Anera with a $1.5 million grant to purchase and prepare hot meals for distribution to displaced and other vulnerable individuals and families in Gaza.

The people of Gaza are experiencing an unprecedented humanitarian emergency. About 70% of Gaza’s population is displaced. Very little food is coming through the border and stores are nearly out of stocks.

“At PCRF, we believe that cooperation and solidarity are crucial in responding to this humanitarian crisis,” says PCRF CEO Lubna Musa. “This partnership allows us to amplify our impact, optimize our resources, and better serve our people in need. In working with Anera, an experienced organization that shares our convictions, we are more determined than ever to make a difference in the lives of those affected by this crisis. Together, we can address pressing needs, ensuring that aid reaches those who need it most.”

This partnership between Anera, World Central Kitchen and PCRF will provide enough food to serve approximately 800,000 people with meals.

“We are delighted to be working with our friends at PCRF on this important initiative,” says Anera President & CEO Sean Carroll. “In times of war and forced displacement, a hot meal is more than sustenance: it’s a taste of normalcy and a source of comfort amid chaos.”

Anera’s team in Gaza has already delivered 969,024 hot meals (and food for 3 million more meals) to displaced families since the start of the war, even as the bombs have continued to fall — one of the largest humanitarian responses on the ground. PCRF’s support will ensure this work can continue and grow.

About Anera
Since 1968, Anera has helped refugees and others hurt by conflicts in the Middle East live with dignity and purpose. Anera, which has no political or religious affiliation, works on the ground with partners in the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem, Lebanon, and Jordan. We mobilize resources for immediate humanitarian relief and for sustainable health, education, and economic development efforts. We will keep building better lives until hope finds its way in the Middle East.
