Gaza Conditions, Late July | Latest WFP Report

  • Essential food items have nearly vanished; prices have soared to record highs.
  • 2+ million people confined to less than 45 km²; 88% of Gaza under displacement or militarized zones.
  • Wheat flour prices fluctuate daily due to unstable supply; sugar reaches up to 600 NIS/kg.
  • Humanitarian aid has dropped; markets can’t reliably fill the gap, worsening food insecurity.
  • 45% withdrawal fees due to cash scarcity; digital payments often not accepted.
  • Most households lack gas, burning waste to cook, risking health and safety.
  • Diet diversity is at its worst since the war began.

Anera’s primary healthcare clinics in Khan Younis and Deir El Balah continued to provide essential medical care amid dire conditions, treating 900 patients (553 in Khan Younis and 347 in Deir Al Balah).

To help ease the burden of hunger for displaced families, Anera distributed fresh vegetable baskets to 300 families in Khan Younis. These baskets contained enough produce to prepare approximately 3,300 meals, offering crucial nutrition to families facing severe food insecurity.

In response to the urgent need for clean water, Anera delivered drinking water to displaced communities across Gaza: 30 cubic meters (7,925 gallons) to Gaza City, 40 cubic meters (10,566 gallons) to camps in the Middle Area, and 60 cubic meters (15,850 gallons) to Khan Younis camps.
