From Ibrahim, an Anera staffer: “After months of displacement, I finally returned to my home in Gaza. I didn’t expect to find it like this: half of it completely destroyed, and the other half unlivable. Standing on the rubble, I couldn’t help but remember my daughters’ laughter and the warmth that once filled this place. Despite the pain, being there reminded me that this destruction is not the end. It’s the beginning of something new…Reconstruction isn’t just about rebuilding walls. It’s about restoring dignity…The road is long and difficult, but every step toward rebuilding is one more step toward life.”

An update from the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs: Ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza, including in Gaza City’s Rimal and Zaitoun neighborhoods, are worsening an already dire humanitarian crisis. Many residents in the north cannot leave due to insecurity, facing shortages of food and shelter while sleeping outdoors. Preliminary UN satellite analysis shows widespread destruction in Gaza City, with 83% of structures damaged, affecting roughly 81,000 housing units.

Anera’s Gaza team continues responding amidst it all, delivering 248 vegetable parcels in the middle area and another 52 in Khan Younis. We will also soon finish distributing cans of milk for malnourished children visiting our health clinics in Khan Younis and Deir Al Balah.
