Anera’s Sean Carroll Enters Gaza

December 19, 2023 | Washington, DC — Anera President and CEO Sean Carroll arrived inside Gaza this afternoon. As of today, day 74 of the war, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is more severe than ever.

“I am looking forward to meeting with our amazing team in Gaza, who have been doing heroic work under extraordinarily difficult circumstances,” Carroll said today.

In addition to meetings with partners, Carroll intends to see Anera’s emergency community kitchens and food distribution stations, as well as the organization’s distribution centers for medical aid and other emergency aid supplies.

Carroll currently has little to no telecommunications connectivity within Gaza but will be available to comment on Thursday.

SEAN CARROLL WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR A LIMITED NUMBER OF INTERVIEWS

About Anera
Since 1968, Anera has helped refugees and others hurt by conflicts in the Middle East live with dignity and purpose. Anera, which has no political or religious affiliation, works on the ground with partners in the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem, Lebanon, and Jordan. We mobilize resources for immediate humanitarian relief and for sustainable health, education, and economic development efforts. Our staff are from the communities they serve, navigating the politics that constrict progress to get help where it’s needed most. We will keep building better lives until hope finds its way in the Middle East.
