Press Kit

Since 1968, Anera has helped refugees and others hurt by conflicts in the Middle East live with dignity and purpose. Anera has no political or religious affiliation. We work on the ground with partners in the West Bank, Gaza, Lebanon and Jordan. We mobilize resources for immediate emergency relief and for sustainable, long-term health, education, and economic development. Our staff serve in their communities, navigating the politics that constrict progress to get help where it’s needed most. That’s how Anera delivers millions of dollars in programs each year, and it’s how we will keep building better lives until hope finds its way in the Middle East.

Lebanon Communications Manager

Serene is Anera’s eyes and ears on the ground in Lebanon. Serene’s stories and photos give voice to individuals who have been measurably changed through participation in basic education programs and job skills classes, youth sporting activities or volunteering to spread the word about the importance of recycling waste sorting. Originally from Syria, Serene is deeply affected by the terrible conditions refugees from the civil war confront in tented settlements throughout Lebanon. Serene has been working with refugee communities (Iraqi, Palestinian and Syrian) for the past decade, both in Syria and in Lebanon, and particularly with women and girls.
