Anera and UNICEF’s Winter Response
This program is supported by UNICEF.

As winter chill settles over Lebanon, thousands of families are facing not only the harsh weather but also continued security and political instability, in addition to sustained economic hardship. Anera and UNICEF have joined forces to deliver hope and warmth — distributing nearly 10,000 winter kits to families in the South and the Bekaa, ensuring that children and their loved ones are protected from the cold.
A Story of Empowerment and Opportunity
What makes this initiative truly transformative is its dual impact. Each winter kit was produced by 750 dedicated students from across Lebanon. These young people didn’t just assemble supplies — they gained hands-on experience, learned valuable skills and earned an income. For many, this is a first step toward future employment and self-reliance. By investing in youth, Anera and UNICEF are not only meeting urgent needs today but also building pathways to brighter futures.
Reaching the Most Vulnerable
UNICEF and Anera’s work is rooted in the communities most affected by conflict and economic strain. By focusing on families still recovering from the aftermath of war, this partnership ensures that support reaches those who need it most — offering dignity, relief and a sense of solidarity.
Voices of Impact
Ahmad, a mechanic and father of three from Saida, shares:
“In these difficult times, aid is extremely important. We are not only living through a war with the enemy, but also an economic war. There are days when I cannot provide daily necessities for my home, and I am a business owner, so imagine those whose situation is even worse. We are all connected, and this assistance lifts a burden off our shoulders, even if only a small one … it supports us."

"We are all connected, and this assistance lifts a burden off our shoulders, even if only a small one … it supports us," Ahmad says.
For Mirvat, a widowed mother of five, the support brings hope.
“Some of my children work, and others are still waiting for employment opportunities. Despite this, these assistance packages ease a great burden for my family and me, even if they are modest."
"We are going through a very difficult phase in this country, and these donations, especially with winter approaching, allow us to save what we have for other essential needs," she says.
A Call to Partnership
Through this initiative, Anera, through its partnership with UNICEF, reaffirms their commitment to Lebanon’s most vulnerable — delivering not just supplies, but also opportunity, dignity and hope. By supporting efforts like these, donors and communities can help ensure that every child is warm, every family is supported and every young person has a chance to build a better tomorrow.
Lebanon
South Governorate

The South Governorate of Lebanon is a beautiful place with white beaches, archeological ruins, bustling old souks, fertile fields of citrus and banana trees, and a deep history. Its residents are from different religions: Shia and Sunni Muslims, Druze, Eastern Orthodox, Maronite, Protestant, and Greek Catholic Christians. Its biggest cities are also the third and fourth largest in the country, Saida and Tyre.
