Since 1979 ANERA has provided scholarships to students in the Middle East through generous gifts from private donors. Every child in the Scholarship Program needs special assistance. Some are orphans and others live in refugee camps. A substantial number have severe physical impairments that require special educational and rehabilitative services. Almost all come from very poor homes.

Living in a region of the world that remains extremely volatile, the children in ANERA’s Scholarship Program are part of the most vulnerable population group. They need the special services and fine education offered in the schools they attend in Gaza, the West Bank, Lebanon and Jordan.

To ensure that children are educated in a healthy setting, ANERA maintains strict standards when it chooses partner schools. We work with eight institutions that demonstrate high standards in education and rehabilitation services. Each school has a solid record as a registered institution with a governing board and strong financial accountability.

ANERA currently supports over 200 children, ages 4-17, in eight institutions through the Scholarship Program.

Sponsoring a student is not expensive. For only $240 a year or $20 a month, anyone can make a child’s dream of an education a reality.
