Rehabilitating Homes and Providing Relief from Flooding to Families in Gaza

Posted in:

During the winter season, families across Gaza experience extensive flooding due to heavy rains combined with insufficient storm water collection systems. Flooding damages houses, closes roads, and prevents children from playing outside or reaching schools. The flood water often stagnates and becomes contaminated, exposing communities to waterborne illnesses.

With funding from Helping Hand for Relief and Development, Anera has rehabilitated 12 homes to make them more resilient against flooding and more habitable in a variety of ways.

We have also provided affected families with new bedding, blankets, linens, simple insulation, hygiene kits and clothing as part of our relief efforts.
