How You Can Support Palestine and Palestinians

Posted in:

With the war happening in Gaza and the upheaval in the West Bank, you may be wondering what you can do to help. We hope this page will be helpful to you. There is more than one way to engage, and donating is just a start. It’s also about educating yourself and others and showing moral support.

Educate yourself about Palestine

From movies and literature to blogs and informative news sources, there is a lot of information out there about Palestine and the current situation. We have put together a short list of our favorites. Whether you’re just getting started or have worked in Palestine for years, we hope there’s something for you in this list to inspire you to learn and explore further.

Tap into some Palestinian advocacy-oriented organizations

What Anera does as a non-political, non-sectarian humanitarian organization happens in parallel with what other worthy organizations are doing. We therefore share this list of some nonprofits that are engaged in other aspects of work in and for Palestine.

Spread the word about what’s going on

Bookmark and share our daily updates on Anera’s Gaza Response Log. Be sure to follow Anera’s work on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter channels and share our regularly updated content on our website (you might want to check out these pages in particular: situation reports and The Olive Press blog).

Donate to support our work in Palestine

Anera’s emergency responses usually come in phases, just as soon as it’s safe for our Palestinian team to move around. First, we’ll immediately get to work delivering aid in the form of medicines, food, kits filled with necessities, water, and fuel vouchers. And next, in the longer term, we’ll move rapidly to repair damage to water/sanitation networks, health facilities, farms, homes and preschools.

Give now to support our Palestine team’s work.

Other ways to give:
  • Stock Gifts: Gifts of appreciated stock to Anera continue to be crucial for our work and have major tax and cash flow advantages for our donors.
  • Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs): Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs), also known as IRA Charitable Rollovers, are the savviest way for individuals age 70.5 or older to use their IRAs to maximize their charitable impact.
  • Workplace Giving: Contact your personnel department at work to find out whether your employer matches charitable donations of employees. Anera usually meets most company eligibility requirements as it is a registered 501(c)3 organization.
