Anera Humanitarian Aid and Development in Lebanon – Activity Log

This log provides a daily snapshot of Anera’s humanitarian work in Lebanon. While it offers a glimpse into the efforts of our staff as they deliver vital programs across the country, it does not capture everything happening on the ground. Updates are drawn from text messages and chats sent by team members in real time, giving an unfiltered look at the work underway. Some days may have no entries, while others may be updated retroactively as additional reporting becomes available. This log reflects the dedication, responsiveness, and local leadership that drive Anera’s impact in Lebanon.

Rehabilitation work was completed at Srifa Public Garden as part of a youth-led community initiative supported through a UNIFIL-funded project. The garden is being transformed into a safe, accessible public space for residents, marking a milestone in community engagement and local revitalization efforts.

On the same day, Anera kicked off our second round of business startup training for youths from North and Akkar. The participants are fully focused on enhancing and developing their projects for pitching at the end of the eight-day training.

As of December, Lebanon is facing a rapidly escalating outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) among cattle. Anera moved quickly to support the Ministry of Agriculture’s emergency response plan, and support farmers through cash assistance.

This enabled farmers to immediately access biosecurity and outbreak-prevention kits and directly addressing the root cause of transmission by helping farmers disinfect equipment, hands, and farm environments, effectively breaking the chain of spread between farms.

As part of these efforts, the ministry of agriculture reported that 19,972 cattle were vaccinated nationwide in the second wave as of January 29, 2026. These vaccinations help slow the transmission of the virus, protect healthy herds and ensure that farmers can continue producing milk, safeguarding both their livelihoods and food security.
