Gaza has suffered through poverty, war and a crippling blockade that has isolated it from the rest of the world. Despite the challenges, ANERA has been helping families in Gaza for over 30 years. Our staff in Gaza are from the communities they serve and includes engineers, pharmacists, educators and agricultural specialists. They know the problems Gaza faces because they often face them too.
With donations from our community of supporters, we are doing work that changes so many lives.Together, we’re renovating preschools in Gaza so students feel inspired to learn. We’re teaching parents the value of reading to young children. We’re building roads that connect farmers to their lands. We’re erecting reservoirs that provide clean water to thousands. We’re delivering vital medicines to clinics and hospitals and responding in times of crisis with humanitarian relief and aid.
Sustainable agriculture projects like wastewater treatment and home gardens help families become self-sufficient.
“No words can describe the excitement of having water in my house!” exclaims Sabah Shabat, a grandmother of five.
