March 27, 2026
Today, we distributed 289 packs of winter clothing and cold weather gear, prepared by students in our vocational education programs, to displaced people in public shelters located in vocational schools in the Bekaa, including Rachaya, Kherbet Qanafar, Kherbet Rouha, Qabelias, Hezzerta, and Al Qaa. These winter kits are important for families who have fled on short notice with few belongings to higher elevation areas that are often much colder. We are sending another 511 kits to Tripoli to support displaced people in shelters in the North.

Anera, through the Nahno volunteers team, has been distributing 1,000 storybooks across shelters. We have distributed 400 books so far to children (ages 6 to 9) in the Dekwaneh school shelters, and 300 in the Bir Hassan school shelter.

Under the SAWA project, today’s celebration of Mother’s Day and Children’s Day brought mothers and daughters together in a heartfelt moment of love and joy. With the participation of 600 attendees, the event was a meaningful reminder of the strong bond they share, built on care, laughter, and unconditional support.
Today in North Lebanon, the fourth day of our initiative with the Women Program Association kitchen in Beddawi camp, we prepared 275 meals (makhloutat khodar with bread). Through this partnership, we are providing daily hot meals for 79 displaced families in Naher El Bared Camp shelter (UNRWA School).

Yesterday, we commended production of hot meals at the Zgharta vocational school kitchen in the North. This collaborative initiative plans to support approximately 350 internally displaced persons. Prior to the start of production, we provided participating youth with a series of preparatory sessions to ensure quality, safety, and accountability. These sessions included training on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, as well as essential life skills. The initiative is carried out by a dedicated team of five youth, including both vocational students and displaced young people.
March 26, 2026
In the Bekaa today, we delivered 150 sleeping bags and 300 winter clothing kits to the Union of Municipalities in Souk El Ghareb, supporting displaced families at five shelters in the area. These items were locally produced by youth engaged in Anera’s Learning to Earning program, leveraging youth empowerment to deliver rapid humanitarian support. The sleeping bags and winter clothes were manufactured by youth in Tripoli, Saida and the Bekaa.

Today, we distributed 280 hot meals (maakarouna) with the Women Program Association kitchen in Beddawi camp for displaced families in Naher El Bared camp shelter (UNRWA School).
In coordination with Al Moubader organization in Tripoli, today we distributed 68 winter clothing kits for displaced children (ages 6 months to 24 years). And we distributed 165 winter kits at the Zgharta public shelter in North Lebanon to some 68 displaced families.
In the South today, we distributed hundreds of winter clothing kits and dozens of baby supplies to displaced families in the public shelters. Also in the South, young people in our vocational education programs are continuing to manufacture sleeping bags for the emergency response.
March 25, 2026
Today with Anera’s help, our partner organization the Women Program Association kitchen in Beddawi camp North Lebanon is providing daily hot meals for displaced people in Nahr El Bared camp shelter. Today we served 274 meals of mujadara and salad, covering approximately 78 families. This support will continue for the next two weeks, with one hot lunch meal provided daily.

Anera Lebanon launched the production of hot meals at the Dekouane technical vocational education and training kitchen on March 16 in response to the ongoing emergency, supporting approximately 2,800 displaced people. Since the start of the intervention, a total of 6,464 hot meals have been prepared and distributed.
Prior to commencing production, participating youth underwent a series of preparatory sessions to ensure quality, safety, and accountability. These included training on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, life skills, and food safety and hygiene standards.
The initiative is implemented by a team of 20 youth, primarily students from the Hospitality technical vocational education and training school in Dekouane, alongside internally displaced people.
Building on this momentum, Anera is currently expanding hot meal production to additional technical vocational education and training shelters, including Zgharta and Bir Hassan, under the newly launched emergency product donations program in partnership with UNICEF.

March 24, 2026
Today, Anera Lebanon received a donation of 3,500 individual hygiene kits from UNHCR, which are being delivered from the UNHCR warehouse in Zouk Mosbeh to Anera area offices in Beirut, North, Bekaa, and Saida for distribution in collective shelters.

Anera’s SAWA Team, in collaboration with the local partner Lavender Gate, organized recreational activities for 80 displaced children and their parents at Deir Ammar Institute in North Lebanon, in celebration of Mother’s Day.

Anera is helping our partner organization the Women Program Association kitchen in Beddawi camp North Lebanon, providing daily hot meals for displaced people in Nahr El Bared camp shelter. Today we served 250 meals of rice with minced meat and yogurt, covering approximately 76 families. This support will continue for the next two weeks, with one hot lunch meal provided daily.

March 23, 2026
As of today, Anera has reached a total of 96,900 internally displaced people in our third week of emergency response.
Anera, in partnership with Distribute Aid, distributed 95 first aid kits to shelters and first responders in Bekaa, northern, and southern Lebanon, providing essential support to communities in need and helping them stay prepared to respond to urgent incidents that may arise.
And we distributed 15 shelter kits and 1,000 warm-up jackets to collective shelters in Zahle, Ablah, Bwarej, Qaroun, Kfardenis, Rashaya, Baaloul, Aana and Anjar. The kits that were donated by Distribute Aid, are used for emergencies in shelters and first responders.
March 22, 2026
This evening, we received a notice that a public shelter was in urgent need of water. Within 90 minutes, we delivered 2,642 gallons (10,000 liters) of domestic water to 225 displaced persons at a collective shelter in Ras Alabaa. This timely intervention will cover the shelter’s domestic water needs for the next three days and help ensure access to essential water services for displaced families.
And in the Bekaa, we spent the morning distributing sweets to 400 children in five public shelters in Zahle as part of the Eid celebrations.
March 21, 2026
Today, we organized a recreational activity day for children and their mothers at one of the shelters in Nahr El Bared Camp – North Lebanon, currently hosting 72 families and around 200 children. The activity was implemented in collaboration with our partner(Beit Atfal Al Somoud) aiming to bring moments of joy and create a positive atmosphere for both children and their parents during Eid.
Last night, Anera responded to an urgent referral for two collective shelters in Beirut that had been without water since the morning. Within hours, 2,113 gallons (8,000 liters) of water for domestic use were delivered, restoring access for displaced families.
March 19, 2026
Today, for Eid our Bekaa team distributed 500 sweet packs to 500 children across 15 schools in central and west Bekaa. Children in Kefraya, Mansoura, Aana, Khiara, Haoush El Harimi, Sawiri, Zahle, Qabelias, Dair Ghazel and Mekseh enjoyed the recreational activity and our partner Balad to Build joined the party. Standing by families displaced from their homes during the war, offering support and sharing moments of joy, because every child deserves to smile no matter the circumstances.
We received a medical aid shipment today from CMMB, representing the first arrival during the current emergency response. It includes a range of medical supplies that will be distributed through key partners. We will provide vision-related items, including reading glasses and sunglasses, to an NGO supporting individuals with visual impairments in Palestinian camps, helping improve their daily functioning and quality of life. And we will distribute essential medical supplies early next week to a primary healthcare center in Beirut that is currently connected to six collective shelters, supporting the delivery of healthcare services to displaced populations and ensuring continuity of care during this critical period.
As part of our ongoing humanitarian response, the South team continues to support displaced families in Saida and surrounding areas. We distributed a total of 1,076 bottled water kits, covering the needs of four collective shelters for 10 days. In addition, we provided 170 ready-to-eat food parcels, ensuring families in these shelters have access to essential meals for up to 15 days. To bring moments of joy during this difficult time, we distributed 1,000 Eid sweets to children across five collective shelters. These efforts aim to address urgent needs while preserving dignity and spreading hope among the most vulnerable communities.
March 18, 2026
Today, in a heartwarming and festive atmosphere, Anera distributed 500 Eid goodie bags across eight schools in Zgharta, northern Lebanon. The town was filled with joy and celebration, as laughter echoed through schoolyards and children came together to play, smile, and embrace the spirit of Eid. This initiative brought moments of happiness and relief, reflecting the true essence of compassion and community during this special time.

Today, Anera Lebanon distributed 600 winter kits produced by youth in the North and Akkar under the Learning to Earning program. A total of 300 kits were delivered to Dekouane technical vocational education training school and another 300 to the Bir Hassan school, reaching children and youth aged 6 months to 24 years.
These winter kits not only provide essential warmth to internally displaced people sheltering in collective shelters, but also reflect the impact of youth-led production in times of crisis, turning skills into meaningful support for their communities.
These distributions bring the total to 1,880 winter kits produced by Anera’s youth and distributed over the past two weeks since the start of the latest escalation.

More than 63,200 people, including over 20,000 children, received emergency assistance through distributions in collective shelters and affected communities. Support included beddings, mattresses, hygiene kits, bottled water, ready-to-eat food parcels and hot meals to help families meet their most immediate needs.

We prepared 600 winter kits to be handed over and distributed to technical vocational education and training schools in Beirut (Bir Hassan and Dekouane). These winter kits were produced by our youth beneficiaries.

March 17, 2026
Anera continued the distribution of ready-to-eat meals today in Bekaa, covering five Collective shelters in East and Central Zahle. The team distributed 123 parcels in Zahle, Deir Ghazal, and Qabelias covering around 500 internally displaced people.
Anera conducted the distribution of ready-to-eat food parcels across 5 collective shelters in North Lebanon in the Koura villages. A total of 59 parcels were distributed, supporting around 420 internally displaced people.

Additionally we provided 80 hot meals provided today to a shelter in Beirut.

In South Lebanon, Anera started the second batch of deliveries for three large collective shelter in Saida, delivering 100 bags of bottled water as part of the 24 shelters that will be covered with 4,700 bags of bottled water before Eid al-Fitr.

March 16, 2026
Today, Anera teams in Bekaa finished an intervention distributing 223 ready-to-eat meals across eight schools in Central and West Bekaa. In collaboration with the food sector Anera covered collective shelters in Barlias, Mekseh, Ghazzeh, Sawiri, Haoush El Harimi, Kamed El Loz, and Al Mansoura.

Today at the technical vocational education and training center Bir Hassan, we distributed 200 blankets, 105 sleeping bags, and 3,600 water bottles to IDPs.


In addition, we distributed 80 hot meals in a shelter in Beirut.

March 15, 2026
As part of our Ramadan response in Lebanon, Anera’s team distributed 12,000 food parcels reaching more than 55,000 individuals across the country. Head to our website to meet some of the individuals Anera has supported this season and to learn how you can support our Ramadan efforts (link in bio).
Today, in partnership with UNICEF under the Nahno Volunteers Project, Anera launched life skills and sports for well-being sessions for children at the Bir Hassan technical vocational education and training shelters, with the engagement of two Nahno Volunteers youth.
Starting tomorrow, the initiative will expand to six technical vocational education and training shelters in Dekouane, where 14 Nahno Volunteers will lead and facilitate the sessions. Through these activities, we aim to engage more than 400 children and youth from 6 to 18 years old, creating safe spaces that promote well-being, teamwork, and positive energy.

March 14, 2026
Today, at the Bir Hassan technical vocational education and training center, 80 winter kits produced by youth in the Bekaa were distributed to displaced people.

During a field visit with the UNICEF South Area Manager and the Emergency Director from the New York office, we met with the Governor of South Lebanon, who praised the efforts of Anera and UNICEF and highlighted the importance of pre-positioning stocks of relief items in each area as part of emergency preparedness plans, especially in case roads are cut off.
The visit also included a meeting with the Mayor of Saida and a tour of several collective shelters to observe the ongoing response and assess the needs.

Through our team in the Tyre area, 1,242 water bags were delivered to support 11 collective shelters in the region. This operation was carried out in coordination with the WASH Sector, the Ministry of Social Affairs, and the Disaster Management Authority to ensure timely assistance for those in need.

March 13, 2026
Today, as part of ongoing efforts to respond to food needs for displaced individuals inside shelters, our teams distributed 461 ready to eat parcels to shelters in Matn and Aley districts, ensuring that 2,305 individuals will not have to worry about looking for their next meal for at least 14 days.

After distributing 800 meals over the past two days, hot meal preparations have been temporarily paused after nearby strikes damaged the restaurant that prepared the meals.
Since the start of the war, Anera has distributed 846 ready-to-eat food parcels in collective shelters across Mount Lebanon, serving a total of 4,230 displaced people.
March 12, 2026
Today, 300 hot Iftar meals were delivered to displaced individuals at a shelter in Jnah.
Unfortunately, due to the recent shelling in the Bachoura area of Beirut, the restaurant providing these meals was affected. As a result, hot meal distributions will be temporarily on hold until Monday.


In partnership with Anera, UNICEF distributed 16,314 US gallons (61,752 liters) of bottled water to displaced families staying in collective shelters in Saida, South Lebanon. As thousands of people arrived in the city after fleeing their homes, access to safe drinking water became an urgent need inside overcrowded shelters.
March 11, 2026
During the first week of Anera’s emergency response in Lebanon, more than 43,792 people, including over 12,000 children, received emergency assistance through distributions in collective shelters and affected communities. Support included beddings, mattresses, hygiene kits, bottled water, and ready-to-eat food parcels to help families meet their most immediate needs.
Today, Anera continued supporting displaced families in collective shelters in Saida through the distribution of essential relief items.
Winter and baby kits were distributed for children as young as one month old, to 16 years.
Hygiene support was also provided through the distribution of 200 Hygiene Kits and 200 shampoo containers in several shelters across Beirut.

Additionally, today our teams provided Iftar meals for 500 internally displaced people in Beirut.


March 10, 2026
Today in Akkar, we distributed 12 mattresses to individuals at Halba Official Vocational School. In the coming days, we will continue more distributions to support people staying in collective shelters.

In Saida, South Lebanon, UNICEF in partnership with Anera distributed 250 female hygiene kits, including diapers and battery-powered lights, to displaced families. Access to hygiene supplies is essential for dignity and health, while portable lights help families feel safer during the night.
As displacement continues to grow, these small but essential items can make a meaningful difference for families facing the first difficult days of displacement.
March 9, 2026
9% of Lebanon’s land area has been ordered to evacuate. An estimate of 900K people live in these areas.
March 8, 2026
To meet the ongoing needs of displaced families in the Saida area, our team in the south today distributed:
- 50 rapid response kits (that include essential supplies like sanitary pads, hand soap, baby diapers and compact battery-powered lights) to families on the Saida Corniche displaced from Bint Jbeil
- 539 water packs to public shelters at Ghazieh Secondary School, Granada Hotel, Anqoun Intermediate School, Anqoun Secondary School, Tabbaya School, Khiraj Bissariyeh School, Ain Al-Hilweh School and Kfar Hatta School.

March 7, 2026
In response to a shortage of hot meals for iftar at Al Zahraa School Shelter in Aicha Bakkar, our team mobilized today to distribute 18 ready-to-eat parcels to displaced families. This effort is part of our Ramadan project, supporting vulnerable families during the holy month.

March 6, 2026
Today, we distributed 371 ready-to-eat food parcels to displaced people in public shelters across Aley, Bhamdoun, Sawfar, and Bchamoun in Mount Lebanon. Each parcel provides enough food for a family of five, supporting around 1,855 internally displaced people for two weeks.



And in Saida and Nabatieh this morning, we delivered 1,350 packs of bottled drinking water to displaced families.
March 5, 2026
Following a mass displacement this evening, we undertook an emergency intervention tonight to provide bedding kits to families in Rashaya, Rafid, Ezzeh, and Kawkaba Schools. The team provided mattresses, pillows, and blankets to 100 people who were displaced from their homes tonight due to the attacks.


March 4, 2026
Anera teams in Saida distributed 752 hygiene kits designed for families on the move and 502 packs of bottled water. In Tyre, our teams delivered 820 packs of bottled water.


March 3, 2026
Anera released an official response to the escalating crisis in the Middle East.
Our teams distributed roughly 300 sleeping bags and 1,200 winter clothing kits in Dekouane, Beirut and another 50 sleeping bags as well as 150 mattresses in Marounieh, South Lebanon.

The Anera team distributed 994 hygiene kits and 5,964 water bottles across 8 shelters in Saida.

February 28-March 1, 2026
The U.S. and Israel began launching coordinated military strikes against multiple targets in Iran, including strategic and military infrastructure in cities such as Tehran and others. In response, Iran has launched missile attacks towards Israel and reportedly targeted US military assets in several Gulf states, including Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Iraq and the UAE. Explosions and heightened alert levels have been reported in multiple locations across the region including Lebanon, Palestine, and Jordan.
Anera is closely monitoring the escalating crisis, which has already caused deaths, displacement, movement restrictions and heightened public concern. Military activity and closures are affecting daily life for civilians and humanitarian workers alike. Anera is taking active steps to protect staff and adapt operations to sustain essential services for communities in need.
In Lebanon, airstrikes have forced many residents to flee. Anera’s staff in affected areas successfully evacuated. All personnel are safe.
Our teams are continuing in assisting Ramadan distributions in Lebanon. The situation remains fluid. Anera will continue to monitor developments closely, prioritizing staff safety while sustaining life-saving support for communities across the region.
