Anera staff conducted a field visit across Akkar and North Lebanon, including a team reflection session with the Country Director and visits to Business Start-Up beneficiaries in Tal Hayat and Berqayel. The visit also included a strategic meeting with the Director General of the Rashid Karami International Fair in Tripoli to explore potential collaboration, as well as a stop at Al Rahma Center, where the team engaged directly with beneficiaries of the ILO-funded ENABLE project.

This is the story of Mohamad Hobbalah, a beneficiary of the Business Start-Up Component, from Bazourieh, South Lebanon.
He built his catering and snacks business with hard work and determination, turning his dream into a reality. Then the Hezbollah-Israel war left his shop damaged and covered in shattered glass and debris. Rather than give up, he cleaned, rebuilt, and repaired the space himself, and is now back at work serving customers in his community.
