Today we began producing hot meals for displaced families in Rachaya and West Bekaa. Working at a vocational education facility in Rachaya (Aqaba), Anera’s vocational students produced 539 hot meals through a joint project with the World Food Programme and the International Orthodox Christian Charities. For the next 40 days, these young people will be supporting the kitchen to provide meals to public shelters in the area. We anticipate soon increasing production to 1,500 meals daily.

We resumed today our distribution of daily fresh bread to address the significant food insecurity in more than 25 collective shelters across Rashaya and West Bekaa. The final batch of medications, funded by Americares, arrived today. The delivery of over 40,000 vials of critical medications, including anesthesia, sedation, gastrointestinal protection, and emergency stabilization, will support emergency and surgical services across 10 trauma-designated governmental hospitals. This timely delivery strengthens frontline hospitals’ ability to continue delivering life-saving care when it is needed most.

Also today, we received midwife kits donated by Direct Relief at our distribution center. These kits contain essential medical supplies, equipment, and medications needed to support safe deliveries and help prevent complications for mothers and newborns. We will soon distribute the kits to Palestine Red Crescent Society facilities and public hospitals across Lebanon.

It’s day 95 of the war in the South, and yet people continue to choose life. This is exactly what the resilient displaced youth in our vocational program are proving every day as they prepare daily meals for our displaced families. Over the past two days, all meals prepared by the youth were delivered to the tents recently established by the municipality in Haret Saida as part of a rapid response following the latest evacuation warning issued for the city of Tyre.
