July 18-23 Program Updates
Gaza
Food Security
Under a World Food Programme initiative, Anera continued food distributions through two distribution points in the Khan Younis and Deir Al Balah governorates, serving a total of 4,358 households. The nutritional assistance included 44 kilograms of ingredients, including red lentils, rice, salt, cooking oil, canned hummus, canned beans, and tomato sauce. We also provided each family with a 25-kilogram bag of wheat flour.
Anera distributed 15,845 hot meals.
Our fresh produce assistance also continued, as we distributed 2,536 vegetable parcels across the Gaza City, Deir Al Balah, and Khan Younis governorates.
And we employed a team of 60 women to prepare 17,162 nutritious light meals for children attending temporary learning spaces and families in community shelters.
Health
Anera’s six primary healthcare and mother and child health facilities provided healthcare services to 4,967 patients during the reporting period. The three primary healthcare centers in Khan Younis, Deir Al Balah, and Nuseirat delivered 3,255 outpatient consultations, including general medical care, chronic disease management, reproductive health services, and pharmacy support. The three maternal health clinics in Gaza City, Khan Younis, and Zawayda served 1,712 patients, providing maternal and child healthcare, mental health and psychosocial support, nutrition services, and infant and young child feeding counseling.
We further conducted eight health days, providing primary healthcare services to 672 patients.
And we hosted 28 psychosocial support sessions for 796 children, and another 33 psychosocial support sessions for 615 women.
Anera also completed the first round of group psychosocial support sessions for the latest cohort of 90 healthcare workers and journalists. These activities are part of our Help the Helpers project, implemented with Juzoor. We a series of additional sessions planned for these participants.
Protection
Anera provided safeguarding services for 44 individuals, including individual psychosocial support sessions, awareness sessions on protection from sexual exploitation and abuse, and psychological first aid sessions. We referred nine individuals to specialists. Our help desk teams supported 107 people at the Deir Al Balah and Mawasi Al-Qararah distribution sites, with the majority of inquiries related to food assistance and cash assistance.
Water and Sanitation
Anera’s team of 72 workers deployed across nine tent camps and collected and disposed of 75 tons of solid waste. We also hosted four health awareness sessions, improved camp access pathways, and backfilled 12 abandoned waste pits. These activities are part of our Solid Waste Management project funded by the Center for Disaster Philanthropy.
We also delivered 797,800 gallons (3,020 cubic meters) of potable water to communities.
Education
Anera’s summer learning program provided educational activities for 1,177 students.
West Bank
Economic Empowerment
Through our WeCan program, Anera conducted field visits to three operating small businesses in East Jerusalem and continued to deliver equipment to participating small entrepreneurs.
Agriculture and Livelihoods
Anera began providing agricultural training activities in Kufur Allabad. Sessions are focused on climate-resilient staple foods production and adapting livelihoods to the changing climate.
Health
Anera continued support for the Dunya Women’s Cancer Clinic, which provides early detection health services. In this last week, the clinic provided patients with 12 breast examinations, 12 mammograms, seven ultrasound examinations, 11 laboratory tests, and four Tru-Cut core biopsies.

Shelter Food Assistance and Clean Water
Anera teams distributed assistance that reached families across Gaza with ready-to-eat food, fresh produce, hot meals and water.
- Distributed 8,252 ready-to-eat food parcels and 4,162 bags of flour from the World Food Programme to 4,162 families in southern and central Gaza.
- Delivered 1,700 food parcels to families living in makeshift camps.
- Provided more than 2,500 vegetable baskets to households across Gaza City, Khan Younis and Deir Al Balah.
- Served 15,837 hot meals during the course of two distribution days in shelters.
- Delivered more than 790,000 of potable water to displaced families and shelters across Gaza City, Deir Al Balah and Khan Younis.

Healthcare
Anera’s six health facilities remained a critical source of care, providing 5,716 patient consultations during the week. Services included:
- Primary healthcare and treatment for acute and chronic illnesses.
- Maternal and child healthcare, including antenatal and postnatal services.
- Nutrition and infant feeding counseling.
- Mental health and psychosocial support.
- Community health days that reached nearly 500 additional patients.
Supporting Children and Their Caregivers
Anera continued creating safe spaces for children while providing support to women and caregivers:
- 1,177 children participated in summer education activities.
- 762 children attended temporary learning spaces in central Gaza.
- Women’s groups produced and distributed 17,601 nutritious snack meals for children and families through cash-for-work activities.
- 678 women participated in psychosocial support sessions.
- Recreational activities reached 264 children, while mothers, teachers and youth participated in counseling, parenting and psychological first aid programs.
Environmental Health
To improve living conditions in overcrowded displacement camps, Anera deployed 72 cash-for-work laborers across nine camps each day, who:
- Collected and safely disposed of more than 75 tons of solid waste.
- Conducted sanitation and sterilization campaigns.
- Improved camp access roads.
- Filled hazardous wastewater pits.
- Led community health awareness sessions to help reduce disease risks.
Recovery and Livelihoods
Alongside emergency relief, Anera continued preparing longer-term recovery initiatives. Planning advanced for new women’s economic empowerment programs, while preparations moved forward for an agricultural recovery project that will rehabilitate open farmland, greenhouses and solar-powered irrigation systems once implementation begins.
Protecting Vulnerable Communities
Safeguarding teams continued supporting women, men and children through psychosocial care, protection services and referral pathways, while help desks at food distribution sites assisted families with registration, aid inquiries and feedback.
Anera also completed another round of psychosocial support for 92 frontline healthcare workers and journalists, helping those serving on the front lines cope with the prolonged pressures of the humanitarian crisis.

Shelter and WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene)
- Distributed 133 emergency tents to displaced families in the middle area.
- Delivered 824,217 gallons of potable water to shelters and displacement sites across Gaza City and Khan Younis.
- Conducted 20 hygiene promotion sessions to strengthen public health awareness.
- Through a CDP-funded cash-for-work initiative, 72 laborers cleaned across nine displacement camps, while removing 82 tons of solid waste and improving camp infrastructure.
Food Deliveries
- Distributed 17,047 hot meals to displaced families.
- Delivered 2,536 vegetable baskets to families across Gaza City, the middle area and Khan Younis.
- Under the WFP General Food Distribution project, 1,261 households received two ready-to-eat food parcels and one 25 kilo bag of flour each.
Health
- Held 10 community health days, providing primary healthcare services to 718 patients, including 10 with disabilities.
- Delivered 5,271 consultations and patient services through six clinics, including outpatient care, maternal and child health, nutrition services, mental health and psychosocial support, and infant and young child feeding counseling.
- Conducted four group psychosocial support sessions, in partnership with Juzoor, for 73 journalists and healthcare workers with support from help the Helpers.
Education and Protection
- Engaged 1,177 children in summer education activities.
- Delivered 61 psychosocial support sessions, reaching 1,205 women.
- Provided safeguarding services to 47 individuals, including referrals for eight survivors of gender-based violence.
- Responded to 131 inquiries through community help desks, primarily related to cash assistance and food aid.
Women’s Economic Empowerment
60 women participated in cash-for-work activities, producing and distributing 18,287 nutritious snack meals for children and families.
