Anera continued food assistance distributions across Gaza, delivering 180 vegetable baskets to displaced families living in camps in the Middle Area. Each basket weighed approximately 8.35 kilograms and provided enough fresh food to support one family for around five days.

Water trucking operations also continued, with 80 cubic meters of potable water delivered to camps in Khan Younisand another 80 cubic meters delivered to camps in the Middle Area, helping families access safe drinking water amid ongoing shortages.

Food assistance reached displaced families in Gaza City, where Anera distributed 180 vegetable baskets. Each basket weighed approximately 9.05 kilograms and provided enough fresh food to support one family for approximately five days.

Water distributions also continued, with 80 cubic meters of potable water delivered to camps in Khan Younis and 80 cubic meters delivered to camps in the Middle Area.

During the May 17–21 reporting period, Anera also continued large-scale food assistance activities through the WFP General Food Distribution project. A total of 8,522 ready-to-eat meals and 4,261 wheat flour bags were distributed to displaced households through distribution points in Mawasi Al Qararah and Deir El Balah. Families also received high-energy biscuits to supplement nutritional needs.

Protection and safeguarding activities continued alongside distributions, including PSEA awareness sessions for beneficiaries and training for distribution point workers. Additional capacity-building sessions supported help desk focal points and warehouse staff on community engagement, warehouse management and commodity reporting procedures.

Psychosocial support activities implemented in partnership with NAFS for Empowerment continued to engage children, youth, parents and teachers through recreational activities, counseling sessions, positive parenting sessions and psychological first aid programming.

Healthcare services continued across Anera-supported clinics in Gaza. Between May 10 and 12, primary healthcare centers in Khan Younis and Deir El Balah provided care to 1,489 patients, reflecting the sustained demand for essential medical services across displaced communities.

At Anera’s Al Nuseirat clinic, medical teams treated 290 patients between May 6 and 11. Services included general surgery and emergency care, dermatology, wound management, pediatrics, gynecology and internal medicine.

Food assistance also continued in Khan Younis, where 180 vegetable baskets were distributed to displaced families living in camps. Each basket weighed approximately 8.5 kilograms and provided enough fresh food to support a family for approximately five days.

Water trucking operations remained active, with 80 cubic meters of potable water delivered to camps in Khan Younisand another 80 cubic meters delivered to camps in the Middle Area.

May 11, 2026

Through the WFP General Food Distribution project, Anera distributed 10,250 ready-to-eat meals and 5,125 wheat flour bags to displaced households through distribution points in Mawasi Al Qararah and Deir El Balah. Families also received high-energy biscuits to supplement daily nutritional needs.

Psychosocial support activities implemented in partnership with NAFS for Empowerment continued to support children and families affected by ongoing displacement and trauma. Recreational activities, counseling sessions, positive parenting sessions and psychological first aid programming engaged children, youth, parents and teachers throughout the week.

At Anera’s primary healthcare clinic in Al Nuseirat, medical teams provided care to 630 patients between April 26 and May 5, covering a range of services including general surgery and emergency care, internal medicine, dermatology, pediatrics, gynecology and physiotherapy.

During the broader May 2–7 reporting period, food assistance distributions reached thousands of displaced families, with ready-to-eat meals and wheat flour distributed through key distribution points in Mawasi Al Qararah and Deir El Balah, alongside high-energy biscuits to support daily nutrition needs.
